Veterinary referrals provide pet owners with access to specialist care for their beloved animals because sometimes it is necessary for further investigation or treatment. Common reasons for referral are to obtain specialist ultrasound scans, to perform specialist surgery for which a usual vet is not equipped, or for procedures such as CT or MRI scans.
